For Musical Theatre auditions prepare 16-24 measures of a musical theatre piece that showcases your vocal abilities, wear clothing you can move in for dance auditions, and jazz shoes. Application below:

Auditions for "My Fair Lady" will be held February 7 at 2:00 and February 10 at 6:30, with performances June 5 - June 21. Directed by Carol Moore and Amanda Powell. We welcome all actors ages 16 and up to audition for this "loverly" musical.

Preparation:

Prepare a 16-32 bar (1 - 2 minute) musical theater song that showcases your vocal abilities. Have a backing track ready - we will provide a device for you to connect to. Come dressed to move - auditions will include a movement section, as well as cold readings from the script.

Come prepared with conflicts from February 15 - June 21 and a headshot (selfies are fine).

Available roles:

  • Eliza Doolittle: A cockney flower girl from Lisson Grove working outside Covent Garden. Her potential to become “a lady” becomes the object of a bet between Higgins and Pickering.
  • Henry Higgins: British, upper class professional bachelor, world famous phonetics expert, teacher and author of “Higgins’ Universal Alphabet.”
  • Colonel Pickering: Retired British officer with colonial experience and the author of “Spoken Sanskrit.”
  • Alfred P. Doolittle* Eliza’s father; an elderly but vigorous dustman
    Bartender George, works the Tottenham Court Road Pub
  • Freddy Eynsford-Hill: Upper class young man who becomes completely smitten with Eliza.
  • Mrs. Pearce: Henry Higgins’ housekeeper
  • Mrs. Higgins: Henry’s long-suffering mother
  • Mrs. Eynsford-Hill: A friend of Mrs. Higgin’s and Freddy’s mother
  • Prof. Zoltan Karpathy a bearded Hungarian; former phonetics student of Henry Higgins.
  • Harry: Drinking companion of Alfred Doolittle
  • Jaimie: Drinking companion of Alfred Doolittle
  • Mrs. Hopkins: A cockney woman of Tottenham Court
  • Various ensemble roles

  • During the workshop, students experience the process of being a part of a live musical performance from auditions to the final bow. Students will learn stage directions, theatre etiquette, how to prepare for an audition, and so much more!
